Ellie Grimm
Artist statement:
Continually interested in the overlap of domestic interior & exterior spaces in which we spend most of our lives, Ellie Grimm creates oil paintings that pull from real and imagined spaces. From the interior murals and backdrops she creates, her painting practice engages with and often incorporates those pieces she has done. She is interested in the layers of meaning that are created when living surrounded by her murals, and the layers that occur when those murals are repainted in other pieces. Reality, fantasy and revision.
